How Many Fire Extinguishers Do I Need?
UK regulations and the law states that a minimum of 2 Class A fire extinguishers on each floor of your building, unless your building is particularly small, in which case one Class A extinguisher is acceptable.
All fire extinguishers must be easily accessible and visible to all employees. It is important to ensure that you place fire extinguishers close to exits and fire alarm call points to encourage people to evacuate and move away from the fire.
All types of fire extinguishers should be fixed to a wall via a secure bracket or free standing on a rigid and stable floor stand.
